The garden gate is a gastropub from the 19th century with a beautiful beer garden and a scenic, wood-panelled interieur in the heart of hampstead. it's not anymore.
Another Saturday, another meal in a delicious dog friendly pub. this time it was the garden gate directly at the hampstead heath railway station. I ordered a selection.
A table for 3 for a special occasion booked. armed and sat on the sofas where we were expected to dinate! must work hard to get a waitress alertness. we ordered the chicken roast, wait after 30min to arrive, we were then told, I'm sorry, there's no wow! also I had to return my mild wine, which tasted like a glass-heated lemon juice! all round terrible service, will not be back!
The garden gate is a gastropub from the 19th century with a beautiful beer garden and a scenic, wood-panelled interieur in the heart of hampstead. it is not more than a minute to foot from the hampstead heath rail station, and the same to (or from) the royal free. my family and I love this rustic looking pub and have at least one extended family meeting here every year (this year included). the garden is heavenly when the weather allows, and the whole facility is dog-friendly.
