Umi Sushi Express - Canada

The bengos were really delicious. I love how the hired people have a lot of effort in the bengo! the sushi is probably the best sushi I ever had! the avocado roll is my personal favorite. another favorite is definintly the bark yaki udon they make it fresh and u can see them make it. it makes fun to watch how they make their food fresh when they stand out! 10/10 reccomend!

2018. 04. 21. Before our trips, my boyfriend and I went to Crossiron Mill. We had a lunch at the Mall. I have ordered Umi Sushi Express for myself. Umi Sushi Express is a quick service restaurant in the Crossiron Mill Food Court. It has many franchises in Calgary. There are over 30 locations across Canada. It offers fresh and healthy Japanese cuisine, such as Rice Boxes, Noodles, and Bubble Teas, for those in a hurry and on the go. Through continuous improvement (kaizen) and evolution, Umi aims to offer delicious and creative cuisine that is fresh, healthy, made with care, and integrity of ingredients. I ordered beef noodles for lunch, which was only $9.99, was a great deal. My noodles came out the kitchen very fast. It was well cooked and fresh with a large portion. There were lots of beef on top of noodle soup, which was a great deal. The soup was very tasty and delicious. I love it so much. Strong recommend!

Not even worth 1 star. Bento box vegetables on rice was pure cabbage and a few pieces of broccoli there's no avacodo in the sushi, the yam and shrimp tempura had been sitting precooked on the grill cold. Disappointing

I usually like Umi Sushi since the franchise is consistently good quality. This place is not only disappointing but disgusting too. The meat and tempura were pretty cooked and warmed to order. The person in front of me ordered the same thing as me, but for some reason the cook added peppers to mine. The vegetables were thrown on and then scooped into my dish half cooked. The sauce on top was way too sweet. Even the sushi was terrible. It was like they trimmed the extra rice off after they sliced it. There were cut marks all around (inside out roll). The rice was also very dry.

I have eaten here in many occasions while walking in the CrossIron Mall. I am a long term vegetarian and it has been great to be able to get a decent vegetarian meal at a good price. The people are always nice (especially the older guy with a hat who works the grill) and they are very accommodating. The food is good with excellent portions. I always get the Tofu Bento Box with Veggie Sushi.
