Cafe Formaggio - CARLE PLACE

I will never make a reservation here for Valentine's Day again. It was way too crowded, frenetic and noisy and the staff, due to the fact that the restaurant was so busy, were overwhelmed. I went with 3 female friends and we had to sit at two round tables set up next to each other. Although we weren't looking to have a romantic evening, it was not a nice quiet, relaxing evening. I had a phone message the day before advising that we could only have 2 hrs since so many people were booked. I'd say way overbooked. Although no one rushed us--in fact we were ignored most of the time, which was very annoying. One friend's dinner came out lukewarm and had to be sent back. Her vegetables were mushy as well. Another friend said her St. Peter's fish was under seasoned and underwhelming. Another friend and I were happy with our dinners--eggplant parm and spaghetti--all of which came much later than people sitting near us who had come after we did at 7:00. No one came to see how our meal was and we were never offered parmesan cheese. We had to ask for it. I've eaten here many times and always had a wonderful experience, even more reason for our disappointment. When we left after 9:00 there was still quite a large group of people waiting to come in. Wonder how long they had been waiting?

Just don’t go on a holiday. Food and service not up to their normal standards

As crowded as Valentine’s Day was ,Dan the manager keep everything moving smoothly

Food very good risotto shrimp was excellent as well as baked clams. always a good experience even on a holiday.

Tomatoes and mozz app. Tomatoes were hard in the middle. No flavor. Had to ask for salt and pepper, server was very good. Service awesome as usual. Not thrilled with the menu. Def need raw oysters on Valentines day. Will def be back again. First issue ever. Had an early res.
