Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe had a great time, and the service and eating were very good
The decor is lovely but the music was too intrusive for a normal conversation. My husband's burrito was good but my street tacos were rather bland and I used the garnishes from his dinner and the salsa from the chips to give them more flavor. As a side note, my preference is I like hardshell tacos better than soft. Just love that crunch and the texture. It's just an option so why not offer it to be more diverse.
The skirt steak quesadilla was outstanding. Good value as well
Arrived cold. Order did not match picture or discription. First complaint the server went to chef and was told that I was wrong (no asparagus on Octopus dish). I then asked for the server to review the menu picture and description and they agreed that I was right. Was given plate with 4 asparagus sticks just by itself. Don't they understand that you eat with your eyes, too? Shrimp in Paella was rubbery and fish was overcooked. Will not go to Carmel Verde again. Ironworks has great quality. This was a very disappointing anniversary dinner. Drinks are great, though!
We've always enjoyed the food at Verde. I don't think there is a better Mexican restaurant in Indianapolis. The classic margarita is made well (enough tequila) and I really enjoy the spiced salt that the glass is rimmed with. Though we did have to request les ice for our second cocktail since the first had more ice than drink, which is not a good thing. My wife had the chicken mole enchilada, and their mole sauce is by far the best in the area with the taste of chocolate, cinnamon, and peppers complimenting the chicken. I had the poblano pepper which was different than what I had about a year ago; the current poblano was filled with cheese while the previous once was stuffed with vegetables. While the one I had yesterday was good, I thought the previous one was better. Our server, Michelle, was a gem she knew when to leave us be and knew when to ask if we were ready for another drink, cocktail, etc. Verde is a great place to savor Mexican upscale entrees and so worth eating at.
