A bit disappointed about my experience at k-bowl. Ordered chicken katsu with curry (11.99) and shrimp w/ vegetable tempura (7.49).The positives: Tempura was a solid 5/5. Nice crisp, flavor was great and was splendid with the dipping sauce. Worth it!The negatives: curry with katsu. A 1/5. Firstly they give rice enough for 3 people to eat but the accompaniments of a thin breaded chicken cutlet and small bowl of gravy is so meager in comparison. I was done with the chicken in 5 bites and was just left with a heap of rice with a little bit of gravy. I honestly think they can sell it for a fraction of the cost like 8 at most because the gravy was nothing special and the chicken was so thin and small. The only redeeming thing about this dish is the crispness of the chicken.Would like to try their Korean dishes next time because I think it’s run by Korean family…(Added the photos of the meals in the public forum)
The first few times I came here was pre-pandemic. Coming here about a week ago, the restaurant had drastically changed from what I remember. The name itself is deceiving because they offer mostly Japanese types of items like bento boxes, udon, sushi, and what not. I was genuinely not impressed with their menu selection and was very sad to see their Korean items go. It 's not as great as they used to be. To be honest, I 'm shocked their still in business with how much their menu has changed. They have some decent deals for lunch combos, but other than that I don 't know if it 's worth going there. I 'm sad to say but it 's not a Korean bowl. They need to change the name to J-Bowl to appropriately describe the current menu items they now offer.
Pretentiously priced entrees. If the food actually tasted to the level of the pricing, it’d be worth it. Also, package your to go orders better, you don’t package teriyaki in a styrofoam box with a lid so it all spills through the sides. Disappointing and a waste of money all around.
I have never written a review before but I was peeved enough to actually write one for this place. Like others I am a college student low on money and the times I went here to get a poke bowl I knew it would be promised with packed scoops of fish. Except for the past 3 times I went they really tried to tell me I had gotten all of what I paid for... tf no ma'am I've been there plenty of times to know how much I typically get. I didn't even want to write a review and be a **** Karen about this but being the 3rd time this happen I finally called them out for it and instead of agreeing I got s on and was told the person knew what they were doing. Anyways I'm being petty asf rn bc I was low on money and expected this place to pull through like it did in the past but all I have now is a half empty stomach that I paid full price for. They got consistently cheaper with their food NOT college student friendly
