This is a wonderful park to camp in! The tall trees provide lots of shade and keep the area cool. It does make it hard to get good Starlink connection, and cell coverage is restricted, but the park does try to provide Internet access through their own wifi network. The trails are well maintained and beautiful. Lots of wildlife activity like squirrels and red Robbins. Utilities are well regulated and easy to access. roads were easily traveled, with no problems getting a large vehicle through. Our vehicle is 40 ft long and 12.5 feet in height for a comparison. good luck with your camping experience here! Playground: there is a jungle gym and fields for kids to play. Restrooms: restrooms were clean and kept up. Dog-friendliness: lots of people walking leashed dogs around camp, and the doggos looked very happy. Picnic area: there are several covered picnic areas to use.
Dated but nice Lodge, enjoyed our stay. New restaurant served good food. Pool was awesome! Very nice picnic area along the Duck River.
Out riding motorcycles and stopped by to get our State Parks Passport Stamped. Front desk was very helpful in getting stamp. Also picked up park sticker. The new lodge is very nice. The park has been recently renovated. Very nice facilities. Waterwheel out front is a unique attraction. Restrooms: Restrooms were very clean.
We stayed in cabin 8 for 3 nights. It was a beautiful cabin but had roaches in the kitchen. A lot of roaches. We had to put our food items in the car. We had told them last year about this same issue and was told it would be taken care of. It was not. The mattresses on the beds were so bad we had a hard time sleeping on them. They need to be replaced. I tried to talk to someone at the office but no one was at the desk. I am so disappointed.
