Avaliação da contribuiçãoEverything was delicious! You have to come here for the wings, fried oysters, tilapia sandwich, and the pineapple lemonade. It was all amazing. We will definitely be returning, the food is very good!
AMAZING everything is top-notch, the wait is definitely worth it.
The entrance to the building has a heavy door that was initially difficult to open. Despite being informed that the only sides available were fries and salad, I was eager to try the mac and cheese. The restaurant, known for its seafood, had a fish sandwich and shrimp with stuffed crab on the menu. The sauces were heavily seasoned, with one being very salty and the other a thick, spoonable sauce. The stuffed crab dish was served in aluminum foil and was quite moist. Due to the high salt content, the salty sauce and sweet tea left us feeling a bit overwhelmed. We then returned to our hotel to enjoy a drink and some water.
Nana's Seafood Soul was a place we targeted for our first visit to Charleston. We hopped one of the DASH lines before walking a ways to get to Nana's before they opened. We had heard that they can get busy and our desired Garlic Shrimp Crab Legs often would sell out and since we don't exactly make regular forays to Charleston we knew we didn't want to miss out. The place is small inside, another reason we wanted to arrive early. Per my title, the exterior, interior or ambiance won't win any awards so this is a food over the fluff place. We each had a Nana's (pineapple) tea and waited for our food. The Garlic Shrimp Crab Legs is not a cheap dish but it was a lot of food. Plenty of garlic and spice to it so Nana's tea was a great complement to it. It is very messy to eat, you will run through plenty of paper towels/napkins but it is worth the work. Nana's is a definite place to go when visiting Charleston. I certainly saw plenty of menu items we could see ourselves enjoying if we are lucky enough to return to Charleston.
Must get anything with the garlic sauce! I had crab legs and shrimp, it was very flavorful and the meat came out the shells very easy!
