Restaurante Baja Mar - Chetumal

We were recommended to try this restaurant and we are so glad we did. We had both dinner and breakfast here. One of the best meals on our trip down to La Paz. The fish is excellent and the portions are generous. It is family owned and they run it (and live in the back, I'm pretty sure). They are friendly and want you to be happy with the food. Our only problem was it was a little hard for us to find the first time, but glad we stuck with it! Two great meals!!

We booked this place through BajaFun. The portions and seafood were out of this world. To make things even better the proprietors say with us and wanted to know about our trip. They also ran and got us some corn cookies when they found out my wife couldn't have gluten.

After the whale watching you deserve a simple, yet mouthwatering meal with the local catch. Baja Mar is a very simple place with a nice whale bone outside to indicate that that's the place.Even the wine was perfectly chilled and you would not expect it in a place like that one.Ther owner was very cheerful and we could understand that the only two persons there were working for us because the service was a bit slow.Seafiid was superfresh and you can have a lobster for as much as a reasonable price in that area. It's all part of the romance when you see such beautiful paradises around you: the lagoon of the Isla Magdalena, the pelikans, the whales, the kindness of the people around you. Welcome to Baja California Sur.
