We chose this one because it was mentioned by an acquaintance when they found out that we like Indonesian foods. During lunch hours, it was not easy to find a table in the food hall as there were many people working in offices around the area.Anyway, we got our food from this restaurant and disappointed. The owner was from Indonesia alright and she also runs an Indonesian grocery store about 45 minutes away. But, the foods just did not match our expectations from the foods we got in that country. Maybe, they just could not get all those fresh ingredients and spices there? Sorry, not worth making this a destination, and not worth the prices on their menu.
Honestly, this wasn't our first choice for dinner but on a rainy night in Chicago at 7pm, we didn't want to venture far, so we ended up at a food court and Minahasa seemed to be the best choice. It'd been a very long time we've had Indonesian and what a great choice! I loved their fried egg noodles which was slightly spicy and the beef rendang didn't disappoint! Also, the complimentary prawn crackers that came with it was very authentic and tasty. Loved every part of this meal: tasty, large portions, good value! Definitely come here if you're in the mood for something light and casual.
Got my food quick. Love the food and hospitality spirits, all menu has unique taste. Reminded of food back home in Indonesia
One of my favorite spots in the city. It’s so nice to see an Indonesian restaurant and after visiting nearby Singapore and Malaysia I can confirm it’s pretty authentic! I’ve had the rendang and (pictured) nasi goreng. Excellent food!
Ayam chicken bites spicy (nice heat). rice a bit dry by evening time, thus best as a lunch place. nice to have something unique
