Avaliação da contribuiçãoAs for the food, I tried the brisket, ribs, and chicken, along with green beans and mac and cheese to start. The brisket and chicken were standout choices—super tender and full of flavor! The sausage was also quite good. The steak was decent but a bit on the dry side. The great thing about the AYCE option is that if you fill up after the first round, they’ll adjust the price and charge you for just what you ordered instead of the AYCE fee, which is a nice touch. However, be aware that if you choose the AYCE, you can’t take home any leftovers—they made sure to remind us of that! As for parking, there seemed to be plenty of space, with large rows and room for trucks. The atmosphere had that classic Texas saloon vibe—cozy and comfortable with plenty of seating. Fortunately, we arrived at a time when it wasn't too crowded, which made for a pleasant experience. Overall, I would definitely come back again!
The food was just average. The mac and cheese had very little cheese in it and tasted more like wet noodles. I prefer my BBQ sausage to have a bit of snap when I bite into it, and I like my brisket to have a rich, flavorful bark, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case during my visit. The food only earns a 2-star rating. However, the service was outstanding. Our server was incredibly attentive, moving quickly between tables, and we never had to wait long for anything.
First off, the AYCE deal is unbeatable at just $27 per person! We chose this restaurant to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday, especially since it's located in China Grove, which is a nod to his favorite Doobie Brothers song, "China Grove." We were seated quickly around 5:00 or 5:30, and the staff—both the hostess and waitresses—were incredibly friendly and helpful. They took our orders promptly, which was much appreciated with a young child in tow! As for the food, I ordered the brisket, ribs, and chicken, along with green beans and mac and cheese to start. The brisket and chicken were standout dishes—super tender and packed with flavor! The sausage was also quite good. The steak was a bit on the dry side, but still acceptable. If you go for the AYCE but find yourself too full after the first round, they’ll adjust the bill to reflect the reduced price for the plates you ordered, so no worries there! Just keep in mind that any AYCE leftovers cannot be taken home, and they'll remind you of that. In terms of parking, there's plenty available with spacious rows that accommodate larger vehicles like trucks. The ambiance captures the typical cozy Texas saloon vibe, offering ample seating. Luckily, we arrived at a time that wasn't too crowded, which definitely helped. Overall, I would definitely return!
I visited this restaurant for the first time recently, and I found it quite pricey for the portion sizes. I ordered the two-meat plate, which included a thin slice of brisket that was cut in half and about five thin slices of sausage. The potato salad didn’t appeal to me, and the green beans were just average. Unfortunately, the banana pudding was disappointing; it tasted like instant pudding and didn’t contain any bananas. After spending $25.00, I also encountered an employee who directly asked for a tip, which I found rude and discourteous. Based on this experience, I won’t be returning.
The restaurant features a clean, Western-style dining atmosphere that I really enjoyed, especially the spool tables. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. Unfortunately, they were out of chicken and turkey, and the chef personally came out to apologize for it. The brisket, both sliced and chopped, was incredibly tender, and the sausage along with the sides was truly delicious. I appreciated that the plate included jalapeños. I particularly liked the green beans, and the beans themselves were superb. My husband was a big fan of the baked potato salad. Just a heads up, there is a fee for using credit cards, but we were prepared with cash.
