Aber ich war natürlich fürs Käsefondue da und das hat sehr gut geschmeckt! Aber Achtung, das Restaurant ist in das Hotel 3 Könige umgezogen!
This is our first time in Switzerland for 12 years, so we have decided to have fondue. This place proved to be a great representative of this House and we really enjoyed our time there. It's not a cheap place, but it's not a cheap city! One of us had a raclette that was very good, but the fondue was better. You can choose from six different types and we went for one the lady recommended and it was a great choice. It was enough for us to leave some of the bread and potatoes that came with it and it was absolutely delicious. All the set in a beautiful place surrounded by historic buildings made it a special evening.
If I try a really good cheese fondue in Switzerland, with fresh white bread, and they serve a little white wine and often there is a grappa in the cheese fondue; anyway, the Swiss-Fondue is excellent, altogether, if it is very cold, it is warm... you on; to recommend, we will also return.
A couple of friends and I desperately wanted to get some fondue even though we all agreed that this is a dish that's best made at home. We were very pleasantly surprised by the cheese fondue we got at the swiss fondue house. Although they served lots of other dishes besides fondue, all four of us decided on fondue. We enjoyed how the head waiter came to our table several times and asked if everything was alright. The fondue was delicious and plentiful. We all ate more than enough! Apart from yummy baguette bread that was fresh and soft, they also served little potatoes to dunk in the fondue which neither of us ever had, but we all decided it was a great idea. The texture of the fondue was creamy and a little foamy, just like it is supposed to be. The taste was rich and well rounded - just like a fondue is supposed to taste. I would definitely return!
OK, so I'm not a big fan of fondue. Pieces of white bread and potatoes dipped in cheese just doesn't seem like a meal to me. But after a day of sledding in the Alps, it seemed right to seek out a fondue house and warm up from the inside-out. Had a basic fondue for two, which was okay, with a glass of local wine, which was nice. Then we did dessert--the chocolate fondue. OK, that made the whole thing worthwhile! An excellently flavored chocolate, with pieces of fruit for dunking. Heaven. Communication was a little difficult with the waitress, but we got through it. I think if you like fondue, this would be a fine place to go. Although I can't say I love it, I must say it was a good choice for the evening, and our experience capped off a lovely day.
