Avaliação da contribuiçãoToday the 10th which is Veterans Day, would be a good day to have empanadas. Stop by at a filipino bakery especializing in empanadas. Empanadas are really good but customer service need a lot of improvement. The young lady that served us was very cold, no greeting, no thank you, not even a little smile. It feels like she doesn't want to be there. Sad, and I hope she is not the owner. No wonder we were the only customer. With this kind of service and even with good empanadas, there won't be many repeat customers. I will be thinking twice coming back at this place because there are many good empanada vendors at West Covina. Nowadays, with inflation and a quesionable economy, it's desirable to experience good food and good customer service if not excellent..................
Win your next potluck by picking up a handful of empanadas from here. The store itself is super cozy and feels like you're supporting a local business. I know they have two locations but I love a good mom and pop. I ordered ahead of time and the service was friendly. I love the selection of empanadas from sweet to savory. I feel like they were reasonably priced and come out really hot. The outside of the empanada is crunchy while the inside it's nice and flavorful. My favorites were the chicken fajita and beef. They were not dry at all on the inside and taste fresh. The only thing that would've made them better would've been a sauce like chimichurri. The outside of the empanada is a little doughy and dense so you definitely need something to moisten it up so it doesn't feel like it's just eating dough. Next time I come back I definitely want to try the other Filipino treats. I would definitely suggest stopping by here next time you're in the area.
ORDERED: Empanadas are delicious! I was disappointed to learn that they currently don't have ube crinkles but hopefully they will soon!SERVICE: Service was exceptional!
The bread of the empanada is mildly sweet and palatable to everybody. The place is neat and organized. I like that every table has an antibacterial gel. I came for the tuna empanada and liked the beef flavor the most. On weekends, they have arroz caldo and Filipino champurado.Vegetarian options: Mushroom and cream and corn and cream for vegetarians.
Best place for Filipino empanadas bar none! Who would have thought tuna melt empanada would be a good idea. They did! I thought...hmm...that can't be good. That would be gross. But I tried it anyway ?. Damn! I was blown away! Also tried their beef and chicken empanada. All were excellent. My only complaints were they sell by the piece. There's no discount for buying in quantity. Their pricing seems lower if buying from the store vs online pricing. They also charge an extra 3% if you pay using a credit card.
