Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe had a voucher for a champagne afternoon tea and visited to celebrate my wife's birthday. I was apprehensive having read some of the reviews regarding the afternoon teas, but I have to say that it was wholly acceptable and more to the point tasty-Ok, it's not the Ritz, but it doesn't charge Ritz prices. I think for the price of the tea, it was wholly reasonably priced. I would agree with some reviewers that it is unfortunate that you have afternoon tea in what is an Indian Restaurant. It would be far better to have a dedicated area within the main body of the hotel for these occasions. The staff were very friendly and attentive.
We went there last night at 9pm for a quiet drink, there was no one in the bar, except one bar attender, who showed no interest in serving us. I had to ask for the drinks list, we sat down and had to go to the bar to order, she really did not want to be there. Asked from our seats for some tap water with ice and she shouted back that she is closing the bar at 10pm, which was fine as we still had 20 minutes. Someone came in at 2155 to order 2 glasses of wine and she refused to serve him because she had closed the till. Really bad service, I will not be coming back here in a hurry, we obviously were not wanted.
All the gear but NO IDEA ! Hopeless service , terrible food , rude people ….. all at extortionate prices will Not recommend this place ….
Have to say I was pretty disappointed with the Cream Tea. I had gone with a friend of mine and the sandwiches were very dry it was as if they had been prepared early and left uncovered. The scones were nice though as was the glass of champagne. The other cakes whilst we tried some of them they left a lot to be desired too and as for cappuccino coffee this was tasteless!! Needless to say will not be going there again!!
We arrived and there were quite a few tables free. However, we were told we could not have one of these, they were all booked. We agreed to wait at the bar and order a bottle of champagne, they then said they could get us a table if we waited 5 minutes...20 minutes later we appeared to still be waiting for it and the bottle! There were members of staff sat behind the bar drinking and when we asked the difference between two champagnes we were told 'one is sh*t because its cheap and the other one is better because it is more expensive ' Shocking! It wasn 't that busy, but the staff clearly had no idea on any steps of service and were all over the place. I would honestly say avoid at all costs, there are better roof terraces nearby where you will be served in a timely manner!
