La Giaretta - CIVITA CASTELLANA

My husband and I luckily came across this restaurant and were able to walk in on a slow night. We were welcomed by a friendly waiter happy to have us join them. Our Italian is very limited and he was very patient with us asking questions about the great selection of classic Italian dishes on the menu. We ended up sharing a plate of the strozzapreti all’amatriciana and then ordered entrees of a beautifully filleted fresh sea bass, and a delightfully grilled lamb chops, along with cooked cicoria (chicory) and broccolo both side dishes were wonderfully seasoned and delicious. The pasta was excellent, a home made pasta perfectly cooked and accompanied by a classic spicy amatriciana sauce with guancale giving the perfect smokiness and salty flavor. The entrees were just perfectly simple. Seasoned and cooked just right. Highly recommend this local restaurant, topped off with a beautiful space and nice wine list.

The food was very good, it was not expensive, it came pretty quickly over all a very good experience!

We had dinner in this lovely restaurant, whilst attending a relative in the nearby hospital and were really impressed with the quality of the food and service. As we were in a bit of a rush, we decided to return for Sunday lunch and once again had a lovely meal. Porcini and bean soup was lovely and roast veal stuffed with artichoke were delicious! Do leave space for their homemade, very creative desserts!

On vacation in a very hot periode in a wonderful house in Civita Castellana, we were looking for a place to have lunch. Very nice, cool and very food food. I had sea bars, grilled and I can highly recommend it. The others in the party were also more than satisfied. Go there

...well, everyone told us abot this place. I and my team mates went there after a running contest. We had our table at 1.30 pm and we got served at... 2.30... Too much time! I had a typical appetizer (salumi and cheese) a very good tagliata with rucola, a glass of wine all spread out in 2 hours. Too much! Ok, we were 16 but we were very fast ordering food! Anyway, at the end, in my humble opinion price paid was too high.
