The restaurant was absolutely spotless and the staff were wiping down tables, door handles and counters. Our meal was perfection. Tasty but a tad bit messy. Bibs were provided. Who knew lobster could be so juicy. The lobster roll is authentic and highly recommended. The portions are large and well worth the value. The stuffed baked lobster is huge and goes by maket value and well worth it. You will not be disappointed!
The lobster rolls are really delicious but a bit pricey but worth it due to the location. I would come back. The fish and chips were one of the best I?ve had previously. Probably in my top 10 with my time traveling around Europe and the U.S.
Very good seafood restaurant. I don't give many five stars but this place definitely earns it. The service was amazing as well, friendly and helpful. The price is worth the quality. I had the live lobster, the sample plate with clams added, lobster rolls, and the sides (corn, Mac n cheese, fries, homemade chips, and coleslaw. Everything was amazing, the scallops on the sample plate was cooked perfectly. The lobster was cooked perfectly and melts in your mouth delicious! This is the place you want to go to for fresh seafood!
Wow! And I mean WOW! The traditional lobster roll was amazing and off the hook, but the warm butter lobster roll was just as excellent and perfect!!! The onion rings with their house sauce were wonderful and the Sea Tots were a seafood sensation satisfying snack for 2. The Beach Comber drink went well with everything with a nice cherry accent. We will be back... Soon... Oh ya, we will be back!
Stepping into Chef Bob’s Lobstah Trap for the first time instantly transported me back to those warm summer days. The décor is reminiscent of a classic clam shack, featuring picnic tables that are surprisingly comfortable. At the ordering window, a dry erase board lists the origins of their fresh seafood, which is never frozen. You have the option to indulge in Maine or Canadian lobster, which is tender and sweet. The traditional lobster roll is expertly seasoned and generously packed into a buttery split-top hot dog bun. Additionally, you can sample clams from Essex, the home of the original fried clam, or opt for clams from the nearby Ipswich River, which are just as delicious. Whether you choose them steamed or fried whole belly clams, they come with a light, crispy coating. When it comes to seafood, my standard for quality is the cooking of scallops. After trying Chef Bob's fried scallops, I knew I was in capable hands. They were perfectly crispy on the outside while being fully cooked inside, and they melted in my mouth like butter. If you've never experienced perfectly fried scallops, The Lobstah Trap is worth a visit for that alone. You can find them nestled in the Fisherman’s Combo, a dish that’s perfect for sharing with a friend—or you can indulge solo and savor every delicious bite without guilt. The sides at The Lobstah Trap are equally impressive. Their house-made chips are a delight...
