Kobe Japanese Steak House - Columbia

I love Kobe! It's my friend groups favorite place for fun dinners. They have a place to sit down for dinner, or the option to have the chef cook in front of you. Depending on the size of your party or how long you want to spend you can decide which fits your interests! I personally always do the hibachi dinner. I have had the chicken, shrimp, and vegetables. It comes with SO much food, I make three meals out of the one. You get salad, noodles, rice, vegetables, and your choice of protein. The staff is always friendly, and the chefs are very entertaining.

I have been here twice now the second time I came was far better than the first. Our chef was excellent and extremely entertaining. Server was kind and checked in on us. The food was right at par compared to other hibachi places, didn't blow me away though. The environment was quiet and very dim.

Not sure why this place has poor reviews on here. But we finally got around to trying it and it was pretty good! The service was good overall. The manager even came around to make sure we were having a good time. The food was good but not great. Spider roll (3.5/5): pretty standard, good roll. It was basic but nothing special Salmon and steak hibachi (3/5): this was good, I think the salmon was a bit overcooked though. The steak was cooked well. Still yummy flavors overall. Fried rice tasted good along with the noodles. But again nothing outstanding.

My experience tonight was so bad, we won't be coming back. We came in around 4 and were given a lunch menu which we ordered off of. We sat there about 15 minutes before getting our order taken and it took over 45 minutes to get our food. When we got our bill it was $30 higher than expected because we were supposedly in dinner hours. They refused to honor the prices and tried telling us it was because it was a busier time. It wasn't. There were about 4 servers standing around most of the time we were there and it only picked up over an hour after we got there because it took them so long to get our food. The dinner meal came with shrimp, but because we ordered the lunch we didn't get the shrimp. But then we were charged higher prices.

Came on a Friday night. 4 employees goofed off (it happens) while we waited at the host table to be seated. They saw us, said nothing, did nothing. We stood there. We left.
