Frisco melt was amazing I was hella nostalgic for the childhood Steak ‘n Shake Frisco melt done vegan. Ordered that and the Hamburger helper Mac which arrived at the table cold. Notified them, I think they were kind of unaware of the issue. Be patient, it’s a panorama— but also very pricey — what you expect if you were getting full service, but it’s pay at the counter and they bring out your food. Overall, just get a hot sando and you’ll be on Midwest vegan cloud 9. Skip the rest, unless you want takeaway you have to microwave
Our experience here was a bit of a disappointment. The food is good but also pretty salty and expensive. We tried the OG Loaded Nachos, Chick’n Pesto Dilla, Fiesta Melt, and kids’ tofu nuggets. When you arrive, you have to order at the register and then walk to the back garden to sit where they bring out your food. The outdoor garden was the highlight of our experience it has picnic tables which are well spaced out with blankets to sit on, allows dogs, is decorated with lots of plants, and has a nice atmosphere, all of which we loved. My main frustration comes with the service and surcharges which I wish I had known of beforehand. Diners have to place the order just inside the restaurant. There are menus taped to the door’s entrance however there are none directly by the register to reference while ordering. As a result, when the woman who was taking my order asked if I wanted sour cream and hot sauce on the side of the quesadilla, I did not realize it would be $2 and $1, respectively, so I said yes. She then asked if I would like guacamole to dip the tortilla chips that come on the side. Knowing that guac is usually extra at all restaurants, I did ask how much that was $2 and agreed to pay that. Only after paying did I realize that I had to pay for the first two sauces, and had I known their prices, I wouldn’t have gotten them I paid $21 for a quesadilla and chips!!! . I was also surprised to see that I had to pay $0.50 for ketchup I didn’t ask for to go with the fries that came on the side of the Frisco Melt $16 . After paying I was told, “The screen has been disinfected so you can add a tip.” The defaulted tip options started at 15%. I tipped 18% which was around $14 and only after doing so, I was told that they would bring out the food but I would have to get all of my own table settings and bus my table at the end, so I am not exactly sure what service I was tipping. Finally, they accidentally forgot to bring my child’s juice box with the order, which is not a big deal. But when we went back inside the restaurant to ask about it, we received a short reply that we were supposed to get the juice ourselves when we ordered it. I was not told when ordering to get the juice myself and the receipt said “NEEDS JUICE” on it. As for the food, it was tasty but we could tell it was because there was a lot of salt in everything. Sadly, my $21 quesadilla was our least favorite it somehow lacked flavor even with my $5 of sauces with it. Updated from previous review on 2021 08 28
I am a nut-free vegan and I am in love with her mac and cheese! a huge bonus is my local natural market wearing it in its take-and-go refrigerator. it is perfect for the nights if I don't want to dinate or order delivery.
My friend and I both got the trust fall and were surprised and happy to have gotten totally different things. Mine was a jalapeño popper sandwich and it was so creamy and delish. I left feeling so satisfied but not overly full and heavy. We got the trust falls because nothing else on the menu really stood out to us as something we’d want. I hope they expand their menu to have more options.
