Alle Aie Sul Lago - COMACCHIO

The choice of this restaurant was a makeshift, because in reality we intended to have lunch in a restaurant in Comacchio old town; but none of them, already from the day before, was able to accept reservations, because the city was all extraordinarily crowded for Carnival. However, for being a makeshift, this choice turned out to be overall happy. The food was all of good quality, as the value for money was (bill of 73.50 Euros for three people). My only concern was that I wanted to taste the eel, and instead this exquisite (in my opinion) Comacchio specialty isn 't offered by the restaurant. The pasta is all homemade, according to a widespread tradition in the Emilia region. “Tortelloni” stuffed with pumpkin, or ricotta, were two of the first courses chosen; the third was Strozzapreti with guanciale (a sort of bacon). As main dish, two delicious beef dishes (one of which shared). A side dish of sauteed spinach was also excellent. Aside from the water, half a liter of Sangiovese home wine watered our meal. The restaurant has many tables and therefore many customers, but it manages them in a decent way. However, at the beginning we had to attract the attention of the waiters several times to register our requests.

In general, the food is amazing here. Almost everything can also be done gluten free. We are not used to being able to eat out gluten free and we took advantage: we came here every other night while on vacation. We tried everything gluten free. Everything was excellent. Our kids were amazed and wanted to bring extra items home with us. The dining environment outside was fresh and spacious. The staff and service were nice and efficient. We Absolutely recommend this place!!!

This place is great. The food is really good, the place very nice and very affordable in relation to the quality of the dishes. We had a grigliata di pesce and it was fantastic. And, a big thanks to the working team for the kind hospitality We will be back soon!
