The place looks a bit scruffy from the outside but very nice inside. The food however is exceptional, especially at the price. All of the dishes that we tried had an interesting and unique twist: the cabbage in and around the terrine, the salmon marinated...in oil with herring... Service good and a well-chosen selection of wines by the glass.
Invited to dine here with one of the company VP's. We showed up right when they opened and got in without a reservation but I would recommend making one as this restaurant appears to be very popular. I would call this place fancy but friendly....Some of the staff spoke English which was appreciated. The escargot is fabulous, first time I tried it. I chose the Chicken cooked in white wine, shallots, and cream for my main course. It was so good I soaked the sauce up with some bread : I completed my meal with a chocolate meringue. Wine list complemented the food well. A very enjoyable evening.
We were a party of three and did not book a table in advance but when we arrived at approx 7.30 pm, we were warmly welcomed and shown to a very comfortable table. Shortly after, every table in the restaurant was taken and the place...was buzzing. The service was very good with our drinks and food orders taken promptly and with a smile.I chose the sea bass fillet on wilted spinach for my mains and it looke wonderful and tasted delicous. We all had great food and enjoyed the complete evening.
This is one the best restaurants in Compiègne, all products used in each dish are from local farmers, if you want to have a real local experience with wonderful food, you can’t miss the flavors of this place, I have been here several times and...it’s always my first choice. Better to make reservation to be on the safe side.
