Avaliação da contribuiçãoNear York University, Thai Bamboo is West of Keele with free parking and a good menu. It is family food that is appropriate (against Toronto prices); the portion size is the best. Last time I ordered Tangy Tamarinden-Rind and Thai/Kabbage-Salat – big enough to share, plus spicy eggplant, and coconut chicken-skewers on cucumber sauce. Dishes range $14-$18 for pad Thai, sweet basil (bef/Seafood not bad), or curry chicken dishes. The portions are very good, often gluten-free, not too salty, and with vegetarian options (e.g. tom yum soup). Lemongrass chicken / beef takes half an hour to cook, so preorder is best for bbq. The peanuts are offered on the side, and the variety of vegetables in dishes gives color and taste. I'd say the food is healthy and don't swim in fat. Since the pandemic, more students/offers went online so that the hours have changed. It is still closed Sun-Mon., but the kitchen opens at 11:00 and closes earlier: 8:00 Tues-Thurs. and 9:00 Fri-Sat. The side door is usually ajar where there is no disabled stable and there are no stairs at the entrance. Uber Eats also provides meals in the area. For decent service and menu options, I have returned here and taken home rests every time... again and again enjoy a “home cooked” meal!
I came across this restaurant that could be easily missed during the ride a few years ago. I had already tried several Thai restaurants, but most appeared in the trap of chain food providers. Instead, this place has retained any originality, uniqueness, true flavors of the original Thai cuisine. My favorite dishes are Pad Thai with shrimp or beef and the unique fresh spring rolls. Service is great, servings are abundant and price is affordable. I would recommend to everyone to immerse themselves in Thai culture for a few hours by visiting this little place. Enjoy it!
I recently went to Thai Bamboo and my family and I had a great time, the food was amazing and it was a very family friendly environment
Thresh Spring Rolls were excellent! Properly rolled, great fresh ingredients, good size. Tom Yum soup is the best I had anywhere. Good help with shrimp, lots of taste, fresh green onions and cilantro. The Chicken Pad Thai is amazing. Fresh ingredients, beautifully seasoned, generous portions. Could be here again!
My sister-in-law who travels the world, and has spent months in Thailand, says that this is real Thsi food, at it's best. The normal spicing is perhaps a bit milder than that found in Thailand, but you can always add spice if you want to or dare to. Verg tasty dishes well portioned. We have about a dozen favorites of the 30 or so menu options. Service is great and fast. Take out available.
