Montezuma's - COOLANGATTA

I ordered the vegan meat dish from the "vegan/vegetarian" menu, clearly marked as vegan. Despite specifying "vegan" to the waitress, I was served a dish with real meat and cream. When questioned, the waitress informed me they did not have the vegan option. I ended up with a different dish, which was very expensive. When asked about the meat dish, I was told it would be thrown away. This was the worst experience I've had as a vegan.

The vegan menu options that they advertise are not actually available, which was disappointing. The food was bland and unappetizing. Don't bother.

This Mexican restaurant offers vegan cheese, vegan sour cream, and vegan meat alternatives. The atmosphere is bustling, so it's best to arrive early. The tables are close together and it can get loud. The wait staff is friendly but not very experienced, leading to slow service and occasional forgetfulness. The nachos with all the extras, like jalapeños and guacamole, were amazing. However, the enchilada tasted similar to the nachos and was not worth it. We requested hot sauce, which was made from scratch by the chefs but should have been readily available or offered in a bottle. For dessert, we didn't have space for churros, but they looked delicious. The margaritas were pricey, and the blended style was not a favorite, but the shaken version was acceptable.

I ordered the vegan meat dish from the menu "vegan/vegetarian" obviously from the vegan menu and even said to the waitress "vegan bark", but was given a teller of real bark/acid cream/cheese. when I asked why, she told me that they did not have the vegan bark. I ended the reorganization somewhat different (which was super moderately/overpriced). When I asked what they would do with the meat meal, she said they would throw it away. overall worst experience I had ordered as a vegan.

Montezumas has delicious Mexican cuisine that can be made vegan! offers vegan cheese and fried vegan beans. family-oriented and friendly staff. nachos are my fave so I was very satisfied that they offered a vegan option.
