Avaliação da contribuiçãoThis is my favorite Korean restaurant in the Metro Vancouver area so far. I highly recommend the Bbeodagi Gamja-tang and the Galbi-tang. They provide complimentary whole kimchi and rice with the soup pots. You can choose between stone rice or regular rice served in a bowl. I definitely recommend the stone rice, which comes in a hot stone bowl and has a delicious crispy layer at the bottom. Please note that the restaurant will be closed for renovations from late April to late May, as stated on the notice at the door. Be sure to check the timing before your visit!
I would definitely come back to try more dishes from their menu!
In my quest to find a Korean restaurant in the lower mainland that serves Galbitang as delicious as the one I had at New Seoul in the States, I sought recommendations from a Korean coworker. She suggested Wang Ga Ma in Coquitlam. Once again, Fannypack joined me on this culinary adventure.
After wrapping up some Christmas shopping at Lougheed, Grayson and I decided to try some Korean cuisine at Wang Ga Ma. We typically frequent Jong Ga for our Korean cravings, but that evening we wanted to try something different. The restaurant was lively when we arrived, which was understandable since it was a weekend and raining outside. Unlike most Korean restaurants, the menu was relatively concise—only two pages instead of the usual eight. I also noticed that the prices were somewhat higher than those at other nearby establishments.
The revamped interior was truly inviting and cozy. The staff were friendly and courteous, and the prices for the meals were reasonable and tasty. From my experience, I believe this restaurant is the best in the Korean mall area.
