Monteverde At Oldstone

I never thought I would have an outdoor wedding, but when we booked our venue in January 2022, we were specifically searching for an outdoor location, and Monteverde turned out to be absolutely perfect. Lisa truly went above and beyond to make our day incredibly special. She supported us every step of the way, especially on the big day, helping with my bustle and coordinating with our vendors. We only wish we could relive the experience!

We had an extremely frustrating experience with Maryellen Fabry. Her demeanor was rude and she showed a complete lack of respect for our time, making it clear that she was not willing to accommodate our needs at all. When we attempted to schedule a venue tour, Maryellen initially instructed us to arrive at a specific time on a Saturday. However, two hours into our journey, she informed us that she would not be there and that our tour was canceled—without any apology or explanation, just a simple notification. Despite this disrespectful incident, we foolishly chose to continue our partnership with her. Once we entered into a contract, we sought to make some adjustments, including alcohol substitutions. Maryellen was adamant that no substitutions would be allowed without an additional charge. We had spoken to Navjot, the owner of Chutney Masala—who had been incredibly kind and accommodating since they handle Indian catering at Monteverde. After receiving a sample menu from them, we presented it to Maryellen, who was baffled and insisted that any inclusion of alcohol would incur an extra fee. She then proposed reducing our menu and presented us with a new Indian menu that we had never seen before—even though she knew we wanted Indian catering, weeks into our planning process. All of this was highly confusing, yet we still decided to press on. Then, out of the blue, Maryellen informed us that the date we wanted was no longer available, as she had only just realized this. She ignored our requests to amend the contract and did not answer any of our inquiries or accommodate our needs in any way. She simply moved on, wasting even more of our time. Please take my advice: do not work with this venue. There are far better options out there with more respectful staff who communicate effectively and show genuine dedication to their clients. Maryellen is disorganized, unclear, and rude. I genuinely feel sorry for whoever took the date we originally had in our contract, and I am honestly relieved to be done dealing with her.

To make matters worse, she did not show up for scheduled tours and appointments, leaving us without answers and feeling stranded. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, especially when it comes to planning a wedding. Furthermore, she never offered any apologies or explanations for her absenteeism. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend reconsidering using Maryellen’s services for your wedding. It is clear that her business lacks the professionalism and customer service standards that are crucial for planning such a significant event. A wedding should be a joyous occasion, filled with positive experiences, not overshadowed by unprofessional conduct and racial biases. I strongly advise exploring other options to ensure a more seamless and enjoyable wedding planning experience.

We were here for a large and intricate wedding and the grounds and decor (planned by the bride and groom 's families) were just gorgeous. The event was truly memorable but the actual mansion itself could use more restroom facilities (the tented area uses a glorified port a potty with 3 stalls for ladies only. All the food and bands were from vendors not this venue but for a gorgeous OUTDOOR location we got lucky with the weather this is a magnificent spot. Your mileage may vary.

Total dump of a place. Looked here for an event and was so disappointed. For the prices they charges I can 't believe how run down and unkempt the grounds were. The old historic house looked like a dated casino decorated with low end plastic ****. The views are quite pretty but the tents looked moldy and the grass not mowed. I don 't understand how anyone could want to have an event or wedding here. The women who showed us around could not answer basic questions about the space or offerings. She was quite rude as well and when pressed about some obvious issues on the property, such as the bathrooms not currently working, she said this wasn 't her problem. This place could be great based on the views, however whomever owns or runs it has let it fall horribly.
