Avaliação da contribuiçãoWorse meal ever. The food was over cooked. They didn't keep the sitting order or the orders taken. We waited for our meal so long we forgot what we order. The mussels were brown and very little we had to ask for additional portion witch came after 1 hour correct one hour and after we requested it 4 times. The bill was charged with more items than what we had ordered. The place was so dirty that I was very sorry that we picked that place for dinner.
Well, for once we didn't read the TA reviews before choosing to eat here and I am pleased. There's obviously a lot of competion in Courseulles so I'm guessing if you're not top quality the business will not survive in low season. We were wandering around on a Sunday evening and were attracted to the place as we could sit outside in the sun with a nice glass of wine while selecting from the menu, in the end we both went for price fixe menus of 18 and 23 euros and were left to enjoy our drink at leisure before being shown to a great table which felt really intimate. The starters were heavenly, madame had 9 enormous oysters, and I had a fruits de mere, it was so fresh and perfect with a bottle of muscadet. Then I had simple moules marinieres (sauce...mmm) and madame a lovely juicy scallop dish, we followed this with one cheese plate and shared the dessert. All this with another caraffe of red, okay yes we like a wine, and all for less the 70 euros, the service was spot on too, efficient but friendly in french style. You can't get this quality of fresh seafood anywhere I've been in UK and certainly not at this price. Thanks and hopefully the worse reviews are not typical any more.
I have nothing positive to say about this restaurant. They did not have an English menu. Not a bad thing on its own, but this is a massive tourist town being one of the D-day beaches and almost every other restaurant did cater for non-French speakers. The food was average at best and the service non existent once they had delivered our meals. You will be much better off going to any other place in this gorgeous little town.
We ate at the rerstaurant on the last night of our holiday in France and were prepared to pay a little more for a better quality of restaurant. We were very disappointed with the food. We both ordered sole menieure. The cost was Euros 27.50 each and the size was really small. we mentioned this to the waitress at the time and she did nothing to take on board our complaint. We had an average starter of prawns then the sole then a dessert. We had an apertitif and a bottle of white wine. Our bill was over Euros 120 and we felt ripped off. We had to queue at the till to pay. Needless to say we did not leave a tip.The mussells and frites which were availaable looked nice but we wanted something rather more exciting. We would not go there ever again.
My wife and I had dinner there and we loved everything they served us in the fixed price menu. Fish of the day Washington absolutely delicious.
