Avaliação da contribuiçãoThe restaurant owner clearly has a deep understanding of coffee, which is evident in the delicious taste. We had to come back the next day for a coffee to take on our road trip. We also enjoyed a yummy Portuguese tart.
This is a lovely space with a funky, inviting and modern feel, next door to a gorgeous art gallery.I feel that their menu is really limited (banquettes only). They did have some interesting salads but I was told these have been taken off the menu due to lack of demand. The banquettes I have eaten their are delicious but I think the owners undersell their menu items and need to make things sound a bit more tantalising. For example when they were doing salads they had one just called "tuna salad". Not very inspiring but when it came out it was a gorgeous blend of seeds, fresh herbs, tuna and lots of lovely, tasty things. How about being a bit more descriptive, then you may sell more salads. I'd like to see this place do well and with more experienced management I really think it could. Please give me a mug of coffee when I want one. I resent having to pay for 2 small cups to get my coffee hit. That said, their coffee is very good. They also have a great outside courtyard but it could benefit from a bit more shade in summer. Come on guys. You're nearly there.
They are always so friendly, love to chat and make great recommendations about their specialty featured coffees and teas. They have expanded their range of lunch options and their cakes are always 'to die for'. A visit to Philip Island is not an option without a stop at Mendl's
The best coffee on the island, with artisan pastries made and served with love. Friendly service that makes it worth a visit.
We spent a couple of days having average coffee before a recommendation to try Mendl's, I'm glad we did.We only stopped in for coffee but it was ready good. Not only was the girl working there friendly but the coffee was strong full bodied and made well.
