Avaliação da contribuiçãoLots of alternatives for food here. A nice walk from town in the dry season for dinner if you have your walking shoes on.
This is a great place to eat while watching the sun go down. The fish and chips cost $9.90 each and there were far too many chips. And everything was cooked very well. Meals came with a slice of lemon and $1.00 extra each for tartare sauce. A small bottle of sav blanc equalling about 1 and a bit glasses and a stubby of beer came to $12.50. But most places charge around $6.00 plus for a glass of wine in Darwin and elsewhere for that matter. Frankly we can't understand the negative comments about this place. Obviously some people are really hard to please!
People come for location, not food. Keep that in mind. The outlets would struggle on Mitchell st. Evenings are this place singular event. Worth a visit and a beer. Eat back in town.
We visited Stoke's Hill wharf many time's on our stay in Darwin, it is such a beautiful place that we just had to keep coming back. It has Restaurants, the RFDS AND BOMBING OF DARWIN VIRTUAL REALITY EXPERIENCE, you can simply sit at the wharf a while away a couple of hours. It is a great spot to relax. You can watch the boats in the harbour, feed the fish and the birds. From time to time there is a cruise ship birthed. There is plenty of free parking.
15 years ago this was the place to eat especially at night time. It has been left a bit behind by the wharf precinct but is still worth a look. Food tends to be a little bit expensive but we had a lovely seafood basket at Fusion on the wharf which would quite easily feed 2 people for about $27. Stubby of beer for $6. Food here is mainly Asian and fish and chip but an ice cream shop exists here also. Starting point for most of the Darwin harbour cruises. Make sure you stop to read the interesting information on when the wharf was bombed in 1942.
