Avaliação da contribuiçãoBooked 4 rooms for friends reunion, all were poor quality, faulty heating, poor wifi, water stained ceilings, shower door fell off, tv didn't work, owner refused any reduction on an over priced rate. Booking.com no help either. Take my advice and stay in the premier inn in matlock a few miles away.
Excellent lunch. Good veggie/vegan options. Friendly service. But the heating was off it was cold.
The food doesn’t really fit in with a gastropub label . Dishes unremarkable and side dishes need to be added. Wine expensive for what you get . Service good with a couple of good local cask beers .
Absolutely beautiful food, we had pizza and it was well with the half hour wait, we joked ‘have they gone to Italy to get our pizza’ and when it arrived it tasted like they had! Perfect dough, amazing flavour toppings and great side of chips. Highly recommend for food. Staff very polite and a clean restaurant, outside seating meant we got to sit in the October sun.
I saw some decent photos online and decided to give this restaurant a try instead of booking a chain hotel like Premier Inn. Unfortunately, appearances can be deceiving. Last orders for food were at 8pm with no exceptions, so I ordered a burger in advance. It cost £16 and was served on a small wooden board instead of a plate, making it difficult to eat as it fell apart. My room was on the second floor and was cold, tired, and dirty with a red carpet, dirty windowsills, dusty surfaces, and a cracked sink. Despite complaining, the heating was only turned on in the evening and I woke up cold in the morning. The breakfast room was also cold, but the cooked breakfast was good with a great sausage. The hotel is in need of a complete renovation, but a thorough cleaning and daily attention to detail, along with some new furniture, could make a big difference. It's a shame because I typically prefer older hotels.
