I loved the hotel! The experience was great and the employees were very friendly. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The negative was that the TV did not have any apps like Netflix YouTube or Amazon Prime so we couldn’t watch our TV shows. The valet parking was in a odd place but it is understandable because the road in the front was closed. The location was okay and the noise was loud at night.
For the three nights that I was there, the thermostats never stayed at the temperature I set. I tried multiple settings to get it to stay but it kept auto changing to a higher temperature every 15 minutes or so. The windows don’t open, so the room was very stuffy and uncomfortable when the temp was up and it was very annoying to get up and keep turning it down while I was trying to sleep. The front desk had someone check it out two times, but the issue never got resolved. The floor plan is a maze. The bathrobes that they have in their rooms are very worn. The signs throughout the hotel are not very clear and the construction outside makes it very hard to navigate to. I was very excited to stay, but the inability to get the room to stay comfortable made the visit very unpleasant. The construction on the Hudson site next door was also quite loud and started early in the morning right outside the window.
I stayed here back in Nov 2022. I stayed for my birthday and the Thanksgiving parade happened to be the next day. My stay was wonderful and I plan to stay again! Staff was nice and the room was gorgeous and clean.Walkability: Right on Woodward which is the perfect spot if you want to be Downtown.
Wonderful, until it wasn’t.The hotel is stunningly beautiful, and it was a great stay until it wasn’t, when it rapidly became an experience I wouldn’t expect when paying for such a room. More below..Positives: hotel is beautifully, and the development has some great food, coffee, and shopping experiences Close proximity to some great food and downtown experiences Most of the team were amazingNegatives: the room was about 90% clean. There were a few cleanliness issues that you can overlook (bottle cap from a previous guest on the floor, toothpaste splatter on the faucet); but overall reasonably clean. Some visible wear of furnishings and stains Where this became a poor experience that impacted the whole stay and mood was in the last hour before checkout. In the midst of packing up, loud knocking on the door (whilst the do not disturb was on the handle); open the door to be greeted by housekeeping … “oh you’re here.” I explained that I’m in middle of finishing packing up, which was met with a groan, eye roll, and attitude. This was well before checkout time. I completely understand housekeeping has so much pressure to turn rooms over in a short period. But this was completely unacceptable. It was rude, and placed a significant mark on the whole stay.I’d love to come back, but not sure the experience is worth the premium; I left feeling like I was an inconvenience.
