Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe were very disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. As third generation, year-round visitors to the area with four children ranging from 18 months to 9 years old, we expected more. After a long day at the beach, we walked in last minute for dinner. Unfortunately, the kids' meals were served on side plates and my 9 year old was still hungry afterwards. When my daughter asked for carrots, they were not available and there were no plain vegetable accompaniments for the children's dinners. The menu was extravagant and overpriced with only card payments accepted. The service was slow, which was not ideal with four hungry children waiting for their food. We waited 40 minutes for our meals, and the children's menu was very limited. The staff was friendly, but overall, the restaurant did not have the relaxed atmosphere and basic food options we were looking for as a family. We will not be returning as it is not suitable for families with young children looking for a quick and simple meal.
My wife Christine and I always look forward to dining at Michaelangelos during our annual two-night stay in Portnoo in September. The food is fantastic, the staff are friendly and efficient, and we always receive a warm welcome. This year was no exception. I made a special request for lobster when booking a table with Angelo, and as always, it was delicious. Mick did a wonderful job in the kitchen both nights, serving us sublime sirloin steaks with a fantastic green peppercorn sauce on our second evening. The calamari starter and desserts of sticky toffee pudding and banoffe pie were also delicious. Special thanks to Patrick, Erin, and Charlie for their excellent service both nights. It is disappointing to hear that Mick and Angelo will be leaving, as they will be greatly missed. Good luck to them in the future, and thank you for everything.
We just returned from this fantastic restaurant and were blown away. My husband said it was the best steak he's had in Ireland in years. The hake was delicious, the kids loved their meals, and the curry was fabulous. We were a group of 19 and everyone agreed that the food at this restaurant was outstanding. The locals are fortunate to have such a great place in their community.
I absolutely adore this restaurant and never miss a chance to visit whenever I am in Donegal with my children. The food is consistently excellent, especially the fish and chips, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming.
The chicken curry is exceptional! I hope you continue to offer it on the menu.
