Avaliação da contribuiçãoOur family of 4 had a fantastic meal here on a recent trip to Dubbo. Excellent service and fabulous food. The Chocolate Sphere dessert is still raved about by our children. Not to be missed if you are in the area!
Everything about Veldt is excellent, our group of three couples were treated to a most enjoyable evening. The restaurant is well presented, tables not too close to each other and the seating very comfortable. The roast lamb shoulder for two ($65) was brilliant, slow cooked for eight hours it was delicious and even though a carving knife was provided it just fell off the bone. Accompanying it was a smooth garlic mash potato, minted peas with bacon and a selection of roast vegetables, and perhaps oddly, some salad lettuce. Service started with a beautiful bread roll accompanied by a small bowl of curried soup, then the main arrived soon after. It was so filling that no one had room for any of the great looking desserts, maybe next time.
If you're from Sydney, Melbourne or any other major city, and you want fine dining - this is THE place to be in Dubbo. I've visited multiple times with different groups and each visit is incredible. The food is to die for. And make sure you stay for dessert, their creme brûlée is the creme de la creme! I'm exited to try the chocolate sphere next visit. And of course, it's a lovely venue. Warm lighting and cool furniture make a nice atmosphere. The owners and the staff are friendly and efficient!I will be back!
We're regulars at Veldt and it is without doubt our favourite restaurant locally. The food is always amazing and such care is taken both in how it tastes and is presented. You can't fault the service either - it really is a step above and the staff are full of personality, knowledgable when it comes to the menu and wonderful at catering for any need. Plus we really appreciate that the menu changes seasonally, so there's always something new to try.We most recently took my Grandmother to try the restaurant and she was equally impressed with the quality of food (especially her pear tarte tatin) and service - her favourite meal she has had in Dubbo.
Excellent service and a great menu. Some unusual choices. Waitress recommended slow roasted beef cheek. This was the first time I had tried this dish and was not disappointed. An excellent night out.
