Ocean Boat Fish Chips - Dudley

So sad. This used to be a great fish and chip shop but now (new management ? the batter is soggy, the fish not white and poor quality, the prices have gone up. This was definitely our last visit.

Since this got took over by Indians it’s gone right down hill, I used to be a regular at the great lovely big standard the people before set but chicken tikka chips sent be violently ill for 12 hours out of both holes same time, a chicken bap 2 weeks later (they were looking inside the big square boxes ring to detect what meat it was) with apple sauce stuffing, that sent me running to the toilet too. Il only ever use them for a plain portion chips if I ever have to. What’s with the vapes and alcohol fridge on counter, it may aswell be an off license greediness which has hopefully gone against them. Far cry from the high standard English chip shop previous owners great staff ran, brilliant people they were. Now half the portions for more money.Such a shame it came to this, I never knew they were selling up. Makes my property nearby devalued, nothing to boast about anymore.

Ordered for me and my mother. Two large fish chips. Fish isn’t large just a poor quality, mini fish elsewhere! All batter little bit of tasteless fish, is it cod? Chips greasy but dry, very odd combination to pull off. They’re trying to be a chip shop/chicken shop/sandwich shop/ curry shop/ pizza place etc….. I’ve ordered twice, just poor quality food done badly. Concentrate on one business model and do it properly!! It’s a real shame the business has changed hands, it’s blatantly obvious, this won’t properly work unless a huge effort and change is made. Meanwhile the good reviews look highly suspicious. I cannot recommend anyone spending time or money here. Awful food. Slow delivery. It’s not worth taking up space in your wheelie bin!!

Ordered medium bartered chips and a large chicken kebab, it was nasty ! The chips were not really battered , soggy and seemed like they were left over from last week , the pitta on the kebab was microwaved and rock hard at one side , hardly any chicken and salad was not the normal stuff we have had before , drove back to the shop to hand it back and get a refund , three gents poked at it and asked the same questions , what was wrong with it , what was wrong with chips , who served you ? The girl who served me didn’t cook the chips ! Please do not waste your money . It used to be a wonderful chip shop , sadly this is no longer the case

Well just went this afternoon service was fantastic soo quick meal was fantastic you will never be disappointed thanks ocean boat best chippy….
