Avaliação da contribuiçãoThere's so much I wanted about formosa. they have beautiful staff, a practical location with indoor and outdoor kitchen and they really make an effort by offering vegan food. I also like that they grow their own vegetables. but I'm sad to say that I really didn't like eating. I ordered the dumplings and even though they were just in order when they were totally covered in the sauce that came with them as soon as the sose had run out she was not easy to eat. the filling was veggies - I couldn't see any protein and they tasted a btit like compost. I couldn't eat them. we also had the mapo tofu that is a court with which I am very familiar, but I could only take one mouth. there was something about the taste that immediately turned me off. I am glad to say I liked the coriander pancake and ordered a second to take away the taste of the mapo tofu and dumplings. I am really surprised by the positive reviews for this place. Maybe the cook has changed or perhaps the people are simply grateful that formosa offers vegan alternatives. but I would not eat here again and unfortunately could not recommend it. updated by previous review on 2019-02-20
I have friends here, because I wanted to try and I was lying. while the berries and taroglauses were pretty, they were finally the highlight of our meal. I tried two vegan noodles: one lacked in taste and the other was tough and actually tasted bitter and disgusting. the dumplings were gigantic and the tofu delight was blanching. the only half decent dish was the chive crepe, which was beautiful and crisp. While there were many dishes on the menu, I wouldn't come back in a hurry.
Yes, they do have meat options here, but they seem to shine with their vegetarian food. I believe a lot of the produce is locally grown from the owners garden which is wonderful. I've been here many times now and I always feel refreshed and happy afterward because it's so healthy! Being a university student, the location is brilliant.
Great atmosphere with wooden, cottage style setting. Amazing food, with a wide range of clearly labelled vegan and vegetarian foods, including without garlic/onion. The staff are extremely, and understanding of special diets. Prices and food are both good!
Formosa has an excellent selection of healthy eats, with a good range of vegan options and the staff are really sweet.
