Pirates Arms - Durban

I'm not usually a huge fan of fish, but the seafood here is the highlight of my visits to Durban. I really enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the lovely view of the boats in the harbor. It's a bit disappointing that much of the old sailor-themed decor appears to be missing now, though.

Incredible food and stunning views! I ordered the seafood basket to sample a variety, and I would gladly return just for their deep-fried prawns, which are irresistibly crunchy and delicious. The fish is fresh and crispy, and they serve generous portions of chips! The calamari was tasty, but the star of the meal for me was definitely the deep-fried prawns. The atmosphere was relaxed yet lively; we enjoyed sitting on the balcony, watching the boats come and go while seagulls flew around. There’s something magical about the sea breeze on your face, combined with the sound of clinking wine glasses and laughter in the air. I absolutely love this place!

Put on your sunglasses and swim shorts, and make your way to the balcony at Pirates Arms on Wilson's Wharf just before lunchtime on a Saturday. Treat yourself to the best large fish and chips you'll ever find in Durban! Don't worry about the decor—it's not trendy or upscale. Just relax and soak up the sun on your back while enjoying a refreshing cocktail, along with the best batter and the freshest, largest piece of hake you'll ever experience. Friendly staff. Quiet a wait to get the food. But worth the wait. Very generous sized portions, prepared well. Good complement of condiments and sauces. Great view at the deck, with fresh air of the sea, especially on a day when Durban has good weather. Good, well stocked bar. Overall the bill can add up.

Service, Food.... everything was perfect as before. Tip. If the say large they mean LARGE- best and biggest hake we ever had -Deep fried in beer batter. Everything was divine.!!!!
