Avaliação da contribuiçãoWhen I visit Durban, KwaZulu Natal, I have to follow a family tradition and go to The Oriental Restaurant. They used to be at The Workshop in the heart of the city. They may have relocated, but the flavors have remained consistent. I've always had the same order: their famous Mutton Bunny Chow with a Coke. Nothing else will suffice.
Was feeling for a Orientals mutton bunny. And boy it did not disappoint. Awesome tasting bunny, sojee and keer was divine . To top it off was delivered to me all the way in Illovo beach. That's 5stars from me..
Orientals Restaurant is undoubtedly one of the best dining establishments in Durban! The restaurant never fails to impress, and the food is consistently amazing. However, the standout dish has to be their crab curry. It is simply the best curry I have ever tasted, and I am a self-proclaimed curry aficionado. The spices are perfectly balanced, and the crab meat is cooked to perfection, resulting in a succulent and flavorful dish. I am extremely particular about my curries, and this is the only restaurant from which I would order a curry that's not homemade. Aside from the crab curry, the extensive menu offers a wide selection of delicious dishes. The ambiance is also fantastic, and the staff is friendly and attentive, making for a superb dining experience. Whether you are in the mood for spicy or mild, seafood or vegetarian, you will not be disappointed by the variety of exceptional dishes that Orientals Restaurant has to offer. I highly recommend Orientals Restaurant to anyone looking for fantastic food.
I once visited The Oriental back when it was at The Workshop I always tell everyone who will listen, that they had served the best Bunny Chow I had ever tasted. Now that it's at Galleria Mall, we tried the mixed platter for dinner which was absolutely delicious. We loved it so much, the second time we ate here, we ordered mutton biryani for lunch. Be prepared to wait for a long time for your food though! It gets really busy and it's easy to understand why. Definitely a must try more than once! Also halaal.
Visited on a Friday midday. Was quiet busy, but we were seated and attended to promptly. The take away patrons formed a small line at the store, adding to its popularity. We opted for the junior T bone steak and chips, and a quarter lamb bunny, which they are apparently famous for.We had to. (Would you go to Nandos and order just the veg?
