Monty's - East Lindsey

Absolutely awful. We have been going to Monty’s for years now and have considered this the best fish and chips. The change to polystyrene plates and wooden cutlery is a massive mistake but, moreover, the quality of food was just not good. Safe to say that we won’t be going back!!

We also visited last weekend as was shocked how far Monty’s has plummeted in standards and quality. We were seated in the rear and at one point felt extremely uncomfortable as the manger was very audibly shouting at one of the employees. He then stormed through to the rear and almost shouted at our group ‘what have you ordered!!!!’ Never again and this is such a shame as it used to be the best fish and chip shop in Mablethorpe. It would even have beat the Magpie in Whitby, sadly no more

Unfortunately gone down hill very quickly with the new owners … inside restaurant serves food on polystyrene trays and throw away cutlery , tried last week and had bad experience but thought we’d give another try this week …poor quality fish … was even worse , sadly after visiting this restaurant aprox 15 -20 times per year for the last 5 yrs at least ! Unfortunately was our very last visit !!! Maybe ok for some but but sadly not us !

We where looking for fish and chips to eat in and came across Monty’s, and noticed that the sign said cooked in beef dripping so we gave it a try and wow what great fish and chips and mushy peas at a reasonable price. I had the haddock with my chips it was so white and fresh the chips wasn’t soggy like other chippys. The staff was great I would highly recommend Monty’s and would eat there again to have a fish supper how it should be served 5 .

Cooked fresh in beef dripping which adds to the taste. Great value, well worth the short walk from the front. Highly recommended.
