Avaliação da contribuiçãoWe had no sooner sailed into Eden and tied our lines, when we wandered across to Waterside Cafe for a late lunch. The Fish Tacos with Mexican aioli and fries were wonderful. Our other choice was "Fish of the Day" - lightly battered GrenadierNot sure why we didn't opt for the signature "Eden Mussels" - next time!Could imagine spending lazy afternoons here.
My fiance and I popped in for a late lunch - it was just past 2pm. We explained I was coeliac. Although there were 2 meals that were GF, the owner or Manager was prepared to change a couple of other dishes to GF to give me more options. However, I went with the fish of the day - Ling - with rice and salad. Everything was lovely - the fish just cooked perfectly. The salad was moist, with a lovely mustard seed oil dressing, over the salad leaves, sun dried tomatoes, olives, red onion and some fresh tomato. Also - my fiance had the seafood risotto - not gluten free - so I couldn't try it - however he was really happy with this lunch.
I was looking forward to trying the Eden mussels as the boats in the marina advertised selling them to you direct and this cafe had a nice dish that contained them on the menu. No ! , I'm sorry we haven't had them for a while (but still on the menu !) was the answer after we was seated , however they recommended the seafood risotto, that wont have mussels but extra prawns and scallops to compensate.Don't waste your time, it had 2 x prawns and 1 x scallop , what a joke, feel ripped off.
The Wharfside Cafe is a favourite for me and my husband because of its good food and great view of Eden wharf. So, we were a little put out to find it was closing when we arrived with family, on route from Melbourne to Narooma, all ready for a coffee hit and something sweet. Maybe it was the rain, or our winning smiles, that encouraged the top barista, Garry, to agree to serve us drinks (and with a little gentle "arm-twisting", some cake as well.) Either way, we were extremely grateful for the kindness of the owner and staff. The coffees and tea were great; the cakes were delicious, and we got to chat with our visitors, inside out of the rain.
Just spent 3 weeks overseas amd struggled to find good coffee most of the timeGreat to return to AU and end up at Wharfside Cafe in Eden. The coffee is super smooth and balanced. Perfect.Excellent location down near the working fishing boats. Outside seating to sit back and take it all in.Def stop in if visiting Eden.
