Avaliação da contribuiçãoI usually try to avoid chain restaurants on holiday, but my son wanted to have breakfast on the last day near the shops in the princes street in edinburgh. I had to know that I could get this standard fair in suffolk home. cafe nero was calm. since the day was simply started for most around we chose a few sandwiches from the breakfast case. the gentleman who served us, mikey a great multitasker asked us to hand over the sandwiches so that he could get a start warming up. we were instructed to scan the track and trace QR code, and once that he took our drink order. very direct and extremely personal he nailed all the points of our order: white chocolate mochas come in a size, do I want milk with my americano? they have me to look past my son who had sat down, they want to see her on her mocha? by that it was not only me to make the order and to take part any person, it was important to me. when we were sitting, I saw how mikey recognized every customer with a personal waiting queue and she was looking for an aspekt of her self-like: where is she accented? have they tried the gautemala single original? He raised his mozens what it was like to enjoy and how he preferred it. his interest in the java was willing to order a new whisky and the bar channels, each nuance of the distillery and what was in the bottle. he knew some regular as they entered, knew their order and joked with them. I enjoyed listening to his funny comments and his knowledge and watching his efficiency behind the theke. I wish all Nero locations had their own mikey.
Recently at a cold wet day on the princes street called five of us for coffee and cake. After the Covid contact details were completed, I went up to find a table chair for five people. on the surrounding chairs I was short when I was interrogated by two managers who took two chairs on a table for eight people) what I did? then I was told to take the chairs back, as it was ruled against covid to move the furniture. They never offered to sort the seating, after all they left their seats free and disappeared. in the hour we spent in the facility did not even come someone up, check the situation, clear or delete the tables! I am not a fan of big chain coffee shops, in future I will stay at family business that appreciate their customers and treat them with respect.
This review is for the caffè nero in princes street, not airport. absolutely terrible customer service close to drinking. I asked because the woman hadn't asked and was already turning around my drink and was answered... with "how would I know I don't work upstairs." as barista work they should be able to find out if there are any tables free. Co-Worker hasn't checked any tables above. So the woman was not happy when she made my coffee something she jumped on herself. huge queues that are made, how an idiot will never look back foot in there. the coworker has just told another that he was free to look up for a seat, although covid dictates that they have to ask and wait for a table. if I could give stars, I would. my local costa instead, where the staff is nice, don't seem to hate being there. the woman wouldn't work grumpy, angry and rude!
As I said in previous reviews, it is almost meaningless evaluation cafe nero regarding coffee and service, as they are consistently very good about the chain. the difference between the two tends to come to a location and decor. obviously has a caffe on princes Street...with a look at the castle a very good location. the decor but, certainly on earth level, is clearly simple and rather boring. there is another sitting area in the upper floor, but, as we did not use it, I cannot comment on it. service was fast and friendly and the maintenance of Covid restrictions was also very good. the coffee was also the high standard we expect from cafe nero.
Visited today and were very shocked that not once did we see a single table cleaned in all the time we were sat there having our coffees. Indeed we didn't see anything cleaned in the front of house. In fact we put the anti bac...liquid on a paper towel ourselves and cleaned our table before we sat down.. perhaps that is their way of doing things, for. Customers to take responsibility for cleanliness and hygiene. The ladies toilet upstairs was dirty and the liquid soap had totally run out so I couldn't wash my hands properly . It hadn't been checked for a few hours according to the sign in the door, and I did mention the state of it to the staff as we went out. Social distancing didn't really seem to be a priority either, but to be fair in many other cafes and pubs in Edinburgh it didn't seem to be observed. But then the customer has a choice I guess and can go elsewhere . We wouldn't use this branch again by choice. Personally I felt the coffee wasn't wonderful either... left me with a nasty taste in my mouth all afternoon. Perhaps I should have gone to an independent cafe, or a Costa...
