I wasn't sure a tavern would be great for the kids, but we all loved it. The Haggis was really good and the staff was super friendly. We enjoyed it so much we went back a few days later.
This is one of at least a dozen gorgeous, iconic pubs on or around the Royal Mile. I'd consider it a must see. The whisky selection is good not the best, but quantity isn't everything. Some places boast about having several hundred whiskys but that's honestly just overwhelming. It's better, I think, to have a smaller well curated selection with something for everyone. I think they did a good job on that here.
The Tollbooth is a traditional pub with a good choice of drinks and friendly service. It was very quiet when I was there but started to get busy when I left. The prices were normal for a city centre pub in Edinburgh.
Stallion stake was perfect. If you wan to try traditional Scottish food, then this is is a place to go. From the outside house looks stunning, like in the Harry Potter movie. Totally love it. Full with locals, fast service and good selection with beers.
Nice pub. They seemed a bit distracted, getting ready for a big group, but service was still pretty good. Loved the atmosphere. I had Haggis for the first time and loved it.
