The service was blunt and we were constantly waiting for staff to come round but they seemed more interested in hiding than serving the customers, to the point I had to find a member of staff to ask for the bill. We would not recommend this to anyone and unfortunately will not be returning.
Exceptional service and genuine kindness! Celebrated my son's birthday here and the staff went above and beyond to make it memorable. Can't thank them enough for the surprise treat they offered. Such a lovely gesture! We had a fantastic time, and my son thoroughly enjoyed it. Plus, the food was outstanding as usual—undoubtedly one of the best Japanese spots in the city. Definitely coming back for more!
We come here often and the food is always really good. We visited recently and again the Ramen and sushi was very tasty. The service on the other hand was very disappointing. We waited over 30 mins to have our plated cleared and in the end I had to find waiting staff for a dessert menu. Ordered dessert and waited another 20 mins for it not to arrive. Again had to find waiting staff to cancel dessert because we had to be home for babysitter and we'd been there 2 hours! So slow service, and no dessert ended up ruining the meal for us.
Maki and Ranen provide an exceptional ramen experience that consistently exceeds expectations. This restaurant has become our go-to spot, delivering fantastic flavours and a dining experience which never fails to impress. From the rich broth to the perfect handmade noodle. Five stars without a doubt!
Although the food was really nice, I was really disappointed in realising that I had tipped TWICE, and felt like I was tricked into it. After being presented with the bill I had no time to check it as the waiter was stood there with the card machine and asked if I had wanted to leave a tip. I did, and proceeded to leave a tip via the card machine. After the waiter left I then saw that the bill ALREADY had a 10% service charge added to it. So if the bill already has an optional service charge on it, why am I being asked again if I want to leave a tip??! Not only that, but when checking the bill I had also seen that we were charged for three salmon makis when we had only ordered two (this did get corrected as I told them and we were refunded the third portion, but I didn’t feel like I could ask for a refund on my double tip). So although the food was nice, this end paying experience really ruined it and I’d urge everyone to check their bill before they pay.
