Avaliação da contribuiçãoWent for a quick bite and drink before going to the Princess for a movie. We didn't have much time so ordered the nachos and pretzels. Beer was reasonably priced. The nachos for two was huge and loaded with toppings. Very good, my friend took the pretzels to go since we were in a hurry. Glad I stopped in for a bite.<br/ <br/ <br/ Update December 31st Staff was not very attentive. They hung out at the bar talking instead of attending to us.
When we got here on a Sunday night and the place was completely dead... we ordered the Mac and cheese and I ordered the spinach dip to start. Honestly, I thought the food was okay. Nothing too great. The server informed me that the restaurant was undergoing a big change in management, etc. I'd be quite willing to have another go at this place and see what they come up with to bring it back. What I did really like about this place was the atmosphere. I feel like this is a great place to grab a bite to eat and a few drinks with friends after a grueling day at work.
Stopped for drinks tonight's. Martinis, and beer flights for the tables. Sat outside on the patio on a great Alberta weather night. Service is great.
My boyfriend and I went to Pourhouse for a late lunch on Saturday. Unlike many other restaurants along Whyte Ave, we were able to sit right away. The interior design of the restaurant makes it a cool, yet comfortable space, however what made the Pourhouse so inviting this particular afternoon was the friendly, and charismatic owner (man with suspenders). He was extremely attentive, waiting if he could tell we needed more time with the menu and appearing as soon as we had decided. He gave us a complimentary appetizer and dessert to share, which were both delicious. I had the lamb burger, and my bf had the Montreal smoked sandwich which were both perfectly prepared, and presented and tasted fantastic! Overall if you are looking for a solid meal in a unique yet cozy atmosphere then Pourhouse is a great choice! They are having St. Pattys day celebration so maybe this Thursday would be a good time to try it out!
Good food, great atmosphere. Only quibble was when I went in just after they opened and none of the 4 people at my table had a fully cooked potato. Even after the waitress took them back to the kitchen for a while they came back pretty raw. I assume the cook had come in a bit late and hadn't get ten the spuds in the oven early enough to have them ready for service. These things happen. Other than that small misstep I have always been happy with my meals here.
