Walia Ethiopian Restaurant - Edmonton

We joined friends at Walia for dinner, and we were glad they suggested this restaurant!The food is full of flavour, portions are reasonable, and it's all made for sharing, with plenty of injera to go around. We let our friendly server guide us through the menu, making selections based on her suggestions, and we were not steered wrong at all. Don't worry too much about the spice - it's more a matter of how 'full' the flavour is versus hot for the purpose of being hot.The night we dined, their POS terminal was down, so it was cash only, not even credit cards. It probably wouldn't hurt to ensure you have enough cash in your wallet before coming.For four of us, including two beers and tea, the total bill was only $70, including GST, so a very reasonable dinner out.

This restaurant feels like it's on the brink of closing soon. Despite serving authentic Ethiopian cuisine, the staff appears a bit disorganized. For instance, I had to wait awhile for the bill. However, if you enjoy trying something different, come here and support to help keep it running.
