I wanted chicken adobe, pancit, Shanghai lumpia and a dish that had white squash and ground beef, was sooo delish. My intentions was to share with my child's father, my ex. I ain't lyin, when I started with one serving, then another then another, it was all gone before I knew it. I truly was embarrassed! So, I made another attempt, this time, pancit, chicken adobe and steam rice. Sooo delish!!! You must try this place!!! I used to go to a market in Spring Valley, but this place is most tastiest! The family working there are very nice. P.s. it is small, I always order to go. You won't be disappointed!
Tried this place for the first time tonight and it did not disappoint! I was craving for some good Filipino food and did not want to drive far in to National City or Mira Mesa due to traffic. This is the only one that is located in El Cajon/Santee area that I could find and thank God I did! This is by far the greatest find especially living way out here. I ordered the two combo of fried tilapia and tinola with white rice. Also ordered 5 pieces of lumpia. The food was very authentic and all homemade. And the price is inexpensive! Definitely will be coming back! I talked to the owner and asked about their menu and she told me that their menu changes daily with the exception of pancit, pork/chicken adobo, and lumpia. You can also call ahead in advance to see what is their menu for the day. Oh and can't forget to mention that they deliver between 11-4 daily except for Saturday, which they are close. I wished I could have post pics of my food but I ate it all! Can't wait to come back!
Soon to be renamed Rosalio's Kitchen, Darboona's Asian Foods is a newly opened Filipino restaurant in east county. The proprietors took over the lease and are working out the kinks. It's not a high frills establishment, but you will find friendly faces serving up quality food that has been cooked with pride at a price that your wallet will thank you for. It's located in a little business center off of Broadway between First and Second Avenues and there is plenty of parking. There is a moderate amount of indoor seating available as well. They are open for lunch and dinner. Naturally, the portion sizes are generous. I recommend the BBQ skewers, they grilled up fresh ones for us when we came for lunch and they were delicious! Their lumpia was also pretty good, above average for a restaurant, and that's as good as it gets coming from me as I am pretty picky and really enjoy the homemade family recipe lumpia. I also tried their picadillo which was very tender and well spiced. I got pork adobo for my second item in the two item combo and this I would most likely skip next time as it was too tough. I got half rice and half pancit and I'm sure you're probably thinking this is a lot of food, but you should see how much my aunties pile on my plate when I go back east to visit! This was like a practice run, really. In all honesty, I wasn't able to finish all of my food. I came here with fellow yelpers Randy B, Justin J, and Omar S and how they were not repulsed by my gluttony, I'll never know. I'll be back to sample more of the menu and if you don't want to drive to the South Bay or Mira Mesa and beyond, you should give Darboona's a try.
Finally! A restaurant in east county that has lumpia, pancet, more! The food is very good and it's home made. Real authentic phillipino food. It's pretty cheap too and you get big portions. I also tried the chicken/potato in the red soup (can't remember the name) but it was delicious. Def coming back to this place
Stopped by this place for the first time this week and was very impressed. The place is very casual, very friendly workers, and absolutely delicious food. I had a lamb and rice meal with soup, beans ,salad that was great and tasty. The owners were very helpful and nice in explaining the dish to me. It is a new place and I say go there once and you will always go. They have American casual food as well. Highly recommend to all.
