La Zaina - El Calafate

Ask for the high top in the back to watch the chef at work. The table is only available as you wait to get seated at an actual dinner table, but if you ask they will let you sit there and you can see the magic in the kitchen. There’s a lot of lamb dishes in El Calafate, but the one here was by far the best. The lamb is cook perfectly and is incredibly tender with the perfect Malbec sauce. Highly recommend this place! Excellent restaurant, we went to celebrate our anniversary and it was incredible! We both ordered the same dish: Sorrentino de cordero con salsa de hongos, very good!! The place is busy, so book or get there early. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

First visit: trout over Sunday Excellent meal, too salty. Repeat visit: braised lamb with grilled vegetables superb meal. The white chocolate dessert with Calafate preserves within is the best. Not too sweet, not too big, delicious. Highly recommended. Sadly, I'm told that it will close permanently after April, 2024.
