Avaliação da contribuiçãoI ordered $67.00 worth of Fish and Chips and needed to pay by credit/debit card. They charge a $1.00 fee for each transaction. When I asked why there was a surcharge, I was told, "They charge us." I pointed out that other places only apply a surcharge for transactions under $10. Surely, an order of $67.00 is substantial enough to absorb the cost. The food was decent, but not worth the extra charge, even if it was just a dollar.
I ordered a cheeseburger, but the meat was undercooked. The fried dim sims were old; they were steamed first and then fried, resulting in a mushy texture.
The seafood is excellent, and the hamburgers and souvlakis are quite tasty as well. The chips are enjoyable, and the pineapple fritters are delicious. Service is consistently prompt, and the location is just across the road from the river.
I've never written a negative review about a restaurant before, but I've reached my breaking point. Our family has experienced food poisoning from this place for the third time now, and we've finally realized we can't go back. This time, the fish was undercooked in parts, and we thought we could avoid those bits to stay safe. But no, we all ended up very sick for two days. If it were just a one-time issue, it wouldn't be so bad, but this has become a recurring problem. From now on, we'll be traveling further to find a meal that won't make us ill.
Typically, battered fish and chips is the only way I enjoy it, but Seafood by the Yarra has changed my perspective. Their crummed flake is absolutely delightful.
