Avaliação da contribuiçãoPizza, wings, dessert, and service were all spot on, plus a nice big outdoor patio to dine at, what more could you ask for? I'm not a wing girl, but damn were those pepper Parmesan wings delicious. I had 3, and if I didn't have a big pizza coming my way, I would've had more. They were juicy, flavorful, and plump! For pizza we went with the September pizza of the month, the bulgogi. While normally I'd go for a slightly more traditional pizza, I'm super happy that we went with this one. Such a unique pie that was absolutely loaded up with flavor. From the spicy Gochujang sauce to the sweet bulgogi, and the sour kimchi, it was an absolute explosion of flavor (and spice) in your mouth. Pizza was also pretty massive. There were two of us that were pretty hungry and we ended up taking half of it back home with us. Even though we were stuffed from the pizza, we wanted to wash the spice down with something sweet so we ended up getting dessert. We ordered the chocolate cake, enjoyed a few bites of it, then were told the tiramisu was where it was at, so gave that a try too. I myself am a chocolate girl, so the cake was the winner for me, but the tiramisu was nice and boozy, so no going wrong there either. We came by on a Saturday early evening and found street parking a few steps from the restaurant. Seems like there is only street parking and not a ton of it, so might have to walk a little bit. Excited to see what other creative and fun pizzas chef Jeff makes in the future!
We've ordered takeout from Spinning Dough a few times now and the pizza is delicious! The crust has a good developed flavor and manages to be thin without the underside getting soggy towards the center. Their menu includes both classic and more inventive flavors and they have a special each month. The past few monthly specials have featured a bulgogi and gochujang pizza, thai green curry, and this month (November) is turkey and cranberry. The owner and staff are very friendly and my pizza pick up has always been on time. While the prices are a bit higher, it's only a few dollars more than a big chain pizza and I am happy to support a small business instead. Considering the unique flavors, large size, and good service, definitely worth it! Looking forward to trying the ube pizza next.
I was skeptical when I saw the Ube Pizza on Instagram a few months ago, but I was visiting friends in Oakland and Spinning Dough came up on my Yelp search while we were debating dinner places, so we decided to give it a try. It was a beautiful day, so we opted to eat in their outdoor space behind the restaurant. The space is clean with ample seating on picnic tables covered with shades. What we ordered: Ube Pizza (bechamel, medley potatoes, red onions, sausage, ube ricotta, scallions on an ube infused crust) This pizza is gorgeous to look at. It wins on presentation and the taste was a well balanced combination of sweet and savory. Maple Chili Baked Wings These wings were large and juicy. Flavor was on the sweet side but also packed a spicy kick. Our server was friendly and she checked on us regularly. This place is a small operation (local business) and I appreciated the attention we were given despite how busy they were. No complaints. This is a great casual spot to grab some unique pizzas and I'm definitely adding it to my rotation of restaurants when in Oakland.
I recently had the pleasure of trying something truly out of the ordinary an Ube pizza. This unique experience was a delightful adventure for my taste buds. The Ube pizza was a captivating fusion of savory and sweet. The purple hued Ube sauce served as the base, providing a subtle earthy sweetness that perfectly complemented the cheesy toppings. The contrast between the creamy Ube sauce and the melted cheese was a culinary revelation, and it made for a surprising yet harmonious combination. The experience of dining on this Ube pizza was as unique as the pizza itself. It was served in a charming, cozy restaurant that was unafraid to experiment with flavors and techniques. The ambiance and service were as delightful as the pizza itself, making for an unforgettable evening with my friends. If you're an adventurous foodie looking for a one of a kind culinary adventure, I highly recommend trying THIS Ube pizza. It's a delicious departure from the ordinary that will leave you with a taste of something extraordinary.
This place has been getting some buzz for their ube pizza and that's exactly what we came here for. Came here on a Friday night and 3/4 of their porch tables were full. We're lucky to have gotten a spot. We ordered, the ube pizza and Caesar salad. Both surprised us in different way. Salad was obviously good but a little tricky to eat since it was deconstructed. As for the pizza, there were so many different toppings I've never experienced together before. A little sweetness from the ube paste, and salty savory bites from the bechamel sauce and sausage. Definitely very very intriguing bites. My favorite part was the crust. I'm not a big thin crust fan, but the chef did it very nicely, where there was still some good chew to the bite! As apart of our meal he shared some appetizers, pizza that was thanksgiving themed, which we also found to be a delightful surprise! I'd recommend this place as a fun dining experience for foodies that want to try something new! It's more on the pricier side but worth it as a fun date night or dinner with friends! Portions are big, and the flavors are unique! Definitely will be following along to see what new flavors he produces next!
