Avaliação da contribuiçãoThe atmosphere at the historic restaurant is great, but the food and service are not. Each entree ordered was less than mediocre. The fish and chips tasted of rancid oil, and the short rib lacked any invention of a rich wine sauce. Dessert as well was tasted like it came the frozen-food aisle. The dining room is wonderful with its collection of marine prints, but the temperature was freezing. Shaking while eating is never fun. Servers were friendly but completely unskilled as fine waitstaff. We were informed of a dress code before our arrival, but it was not enforced if there was one: many diners wore shorts and t-shirts.
Griswold Inn is outstanding! The hotel is a wonderful place to stay. I highly recommend that to all. The tavern part is the best for food and drinks, but sadly the main restaurant was not the best, food was cold, wine was in a dirty glass, just not worth it.
Didn't stay overnight, though I'd love to at a later date. Stopped in for lunch while in the area and loved it! My food was delicious, and the portions were large. The service was wonderful. The atmosphere is delightful. Highly recommend!Walkability: Lots of cool little places to visit in the area. Don't miss the Griswold in store across the street. Great staff! Cool itemsFood drinks: Good was delicious and portions were too much for me!Noteworthy details: Oldest tavern in CT, delightful atmosphere, great service, take a look around the antique decor tells its own story
