Avaliação da contribuiçãoI had an incredible meal at this restaurant. The food was fantastic, and the atmosphere was equally inviting. Everything was prepared in a traditional manner, which really enhanced the experience. The menu offers a great variety with both Greek and Indian dishes. The house wine was delightful as well. For our appetizers, we chose the Mezedaki option, selecting three out of six available choices: Dolmadakia, Anginaraki, and Melitzanosalata served with pita and an extra drizzle of olive oil. For the main course, we had the Korma Chicken Curry, which was creamy and spicy, and the Psari Marinato, featuring lightly breaded Oregon Snapper served with rice and an oiled salad. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience!
What a charming little restaurant! As soon as you walk in, the delightful aroma lets you know you're in for a treat. Everything we tried was delicious, and the service was fantastic! While the portion sizes are on the smaller side for the price, the quality of the food was excellent!
My partner and I enjoyed exceptional service and a delicious Greek meal. We began with stuffed grape leaves and shared a bowl of lemon-chicken soup, which was delightful. She ordered the pork chops, and I had the fresh fish; both dishes were perfectly seasoned and cooked. For drinks, she had hibiscus tea, while I tried the hibiscus tea lemonade, which was quite unique and very tasty. We will definitely be returning!
The charm of this place is evident as soon as you step inside. The dining room is narrow and deep, with massive natural wood columns, beams, and crossbeams that create a rustic atmosphere. Indian tapestries adorn the walls, adding to the unique ambiance. When we asked our server how long Poppy's has been in business, she replied, "Over thirty years!" The restaurant offers traditional Greek and Indian cuisine, which sounded appealing to my brother Kelly. From the menu, I chose the Vindaloo chicken curry, described as "very hot and tangy chicken curry with potatoes." It also came with basmati rice and a side of chutneys. The curry was a deliciously fiery mix of dried red chilies, bay leaves, a whole cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, and other aromatic spices. The chicken came from the back quarter (thigh, upper leg, and back), and we enjoyed it all with a shared bottle of Marathon Greek wine. (By the way, the city water is not good!) My only criticism was that the rice had been kept too long in the warmer, making some grains dry and hard, and they tended to stick together. Aside from that, it was an excellent meal. The service was friendly yet professional. Would we return? Absolutely!
What a charming restaurant! As soon as you step inside, the delightful aroma assures you that you're about to enjoy some exceptional food. Everything we tried was delicious, and the service was excellent! The portion sizes are a bit small for the price, but the quality of the food makes it worthwhile.
