The Eynsham Kitchen

Had our first experience of the Eynsham Kitchen yesterday evening. It has a great feel to it and we love the decor and open kitchen format. It was a bit cold in there though so a bit more heat would be welcome. The food was excellent. Yummie complimentary olives to begin with which made up for the lack of nibbles/starter option. I had the steak .. really tasty meat and beautifully cooked. The triple cooked chips rocked! It was served with dressed salad leaves. Gav had the pork which he said was fantastic. We shared an Eynsham Mess .. a great twist on the Eton Mess idea which you have to experience to appreciate! One thing for me is that, although a meat eater, I love vegetables so it would be nice to be able to order a side of seasonal greens or similar for those of us wanting to top up on our five a day. Only other thing is to allow peeps to book and get a confirmation back quickly. I left a message on the voicemail in the morning and posted on Facebook which was acknowledged very quickly. However I didn't actually get a call confirming I had a table until 6.30pm. I was willing to take a chance last night but ordinarily I would have needed to know much earlier so would have booked somewhere else instead to be sure we'd get fed .. especially if we had invited other friends along. Maybe an online booking tool would help? Overall really loved it and it definitely has the potential to fill a significant gap that has existed in Eynsham for a number of years .. ie for a down to earth, good quality eatery serving up locally sourced food at affordable prices in relaxed contemporary surroundings. Well done guys I'll be back for the chocolate and Guinness cake!

Absolutely fantastic highly recommendable don't normally do burgers but they are something else. Can't wait to try the pepper steak Dave. Thankyou Sam Jim

You don't deserve customers if you speak to them like that , and such a basic and in need of help menu you really need all the help you can get mc Donald's wannabes ......

5* food tonight from Dave and service from Gervais. Great look and feel in the Eynsham Kitchen, this place will go from good to great in no time. Cracking burger on a Wednesday night :
