The food we had for lunch was delicious, and all of the staff were friendly. Some have been there for years, so they must enjoy their job. I will definitely visit the Bridge Inn again next time I am in the UK.
Having been here before, but not for a while, 4 of us went here last night on our way back from the airport. On the window by the door was a '5 ' hygiene score, so we were looking forward to it. We went in and were greeted by a horrible noise coming from lots of speakers. The owners (and perhaps the couple of customers who were there) might have thought it was music, but we didn 't. It was awful, and loud enough to make conversation difficult. 2 of us approached the bar to order drinks while the other 2 looked for the quietest place in the building but it occurred to us to ask first if they served food. They didn 't, said the barman and as he didn 't offer any further details and seemed to think the question was amusing I think it 's safe to assume they aren 't going to start again soon. So for anyone like us who thinks it might be a nice place for a meal, think again and go somewhere else.
We went for Sunday lunch again. It has been many years since our last visit. The decision to paint the outside a dirty grey color is depressing to look at. The interior has a tired feeling, could use a fresh coat of paint, and the men's toilets need to be upgraded. However, I have no complaints about the menu (although they were out of lamb). There was a good selection of starters and main dishes. The meats were excellent and plentiful, the roast potatoes were cooked just right, and the vegetables were piping hot and plentiful as well. The red cabbage was particularly delicious and we even asked for the ingredients. The staff were polite and helpful.
Popped here for Sunday lunch yesterday, it was excellent! All aspects perfectly prepared and served, staff couldn’t have been anymore attentive, really great! Great value for money. Highly recommend!
We took our 6 year old daughter to The Bridge Inn. The toilet paper dispenser on the wall fell open and banged my daughter on the head. I reported the incident to the guy behind the bar, who I believe is the manager. His response was ‘oh right’ and he walked away. No offer of an apology to my daughter who was clearly distressed. We didn’t order food after that and will be looking for a new local! Absolutely shocking!
