Caffrey's - Forked River

Have been going to Caffreys for over 20 years and have to say place used to be very good. My last visit changed all that. Start with the waitress not very good. Asked for straws for our drinks and had to ask another waitress as she was walking by for them. My daughter ordered a filet for dinner and she never asked how she wanted it cooked. I ordered chicken wings. We had to ask another waitress agsin to tell the cook how my daughter wanted her steak because we didn't see our waitress. I also got French onion soup. Soup was bland and had no real taste to it. For dinner I ordered chicken wings which were dry, almost looked like they were heated up a second time. My daughters steak which she asked for at med.rare came out rare. We ended up just asking for boxes to take home. I tried to revive the wings but they were dried up dead. No saving them. At least I got to finish cooking the filet so it was to my daughters liking. I would of complained about how bad everything was but our waitress was m.i.a. most of the time so we left. Don't think there will be a return trip any time soon. I hear alot of people saying ever since the backyard has opened the tavern has really struggled. And now I can see why. Bad service bad food not a good combination.

They have the best food ever and the Service is amazing.

Casual atmosphere with good food. Never disappoints.

I want to start this off by saying that I’ve been coming to caffreys since I was a kid and I’ve always had great food! Staff is always so nice. Over the last year however, I have noticed afew things worth pointing out because I really love it here. The sushi doesn’t taste the same or as fresh as previous years and fries have been coming out cold, which I can chalk down to employees being busy and it happens. What I’m most sad about is the Greek salad. I love getting it because it’s not only delicious but for convenience too. The last three times I've ordered it, there are less and less olives and feta and the lettuce is that bitter dark yellow and also brown. The chicken is always delicious though! This time it really made me sad because my husband and I are without a kitchen and I had to throw away more than half of the salad which felt like a waste of our money. I hope things like this can improve so we can continue to still enjoy the food and not have to toss a lot of it either. :

Excellent food and service! The bar area can be loud (which is expected) but the dining room area is almost worse. It doesn't help that they sit you on top of each other even when it's not full. That Is my only gripe. Good portions and free popcorn is appreciated. Don't forget to join the VIP club!!
